Detoxify with Cherry, Strawberry Detox water.

Detox water is now in vogue and there is a lot of talk making rounds on it, its benefits and nutritional values. One thing is for sure, whether its benefits are real or not, it is one of those remedies which cannot have side effects. So what is detox water? To start with, it mainly is a water and fresh fruit based drink that is used either for flushing out toxins from the body or as some suggest, can be used for weight loss. By toxins I mean the external ones such as pesticides, environmental pollution or the internal toxins caused due to the metabolism or other cellular secretions.

For detox waters, usually the preferred fruit is soaked in water for 4 hours to 12 hours before being consumed and is usually stored in the refrigerator during this soaking period. If it is being used for flushing out toxins then one can drink it throughout the whole day. If it is being used for weight loss then it is recommend to be taken before the meal. I have planned to do a series of detox water that I usually drink.

The first one is a strawberry, cherry, mint leaves and honey based that I often drink. I prefer glass based vessel for making and storing my detox water so that it does not react with the ingredients. So a little fact about the fruits I chose for this detox water.

Cherries are 82%water, 16% carbohydrates, 1%protein and negligible fat. They are enriched with dietary fibre and vitamin C in moderate quantity. Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese. They also contain a modest amount of unsaturated fatty acids. So in brief, both the fruits are rich in vitamins and have negligible fat content. Here are the steps for making it.

Slice the strawberries into half and place them in the mug.

Place the cherries.

Place a bunch of mint leaves without removing the stalks.

Add a tea spoon of honey.

Now pour the water to fill the mug.

Stir slowly with a spoon.

Rest it for 4-5 hours in the refrigerator.

Drink it whenever you wish. Remember to stir it every time before you drink.

  5. If you’re thinking about if you should get detox after drinking alcohol– you might be drinking too much, but we’ve all been there. I take Detoxicated pills when I drink, they’re a health supplement that help your body break down alcohol and support your liver through alcohol metabolization. It reduces the terrible side effects that drinking can leave you with- check out their website for more info.
